San Juan Islands Sheriff's Log April 27-May 6: Deadly cat fight, utility theft, DUIs, crashes,ferry ticket fraud

San Juan County Deputies responded to 208 calls from April 27-May 5, 2022 including: A Lopez Island deputy responded to a citizen dispute. A cat died during cat fight. The owner of the deceased cat then shot and killed the other cat. The investigation is ongoing. An Orcas Island Deputy investigated a theft of utilities on the 40 block of Quarry Ln. A San Juan Island deputy responded to a report of a theft regarding ferry tickets being sold on Facebook. After multiple people sent the seller money via Venmo, communication was cut off and tickets were not received. The deputy's report was sent to the Prosecutor's Office for a charging decision. Deputy on San Juan Island took a report from a citizen who stated that they were illegally recorded on the prairie. Interviews with involved parties were conducted and a report was completed.
