San Juan Islands Sheriff's Log May 4-10, 2022: 'Trapped tennis players', missing packages, DUIs, DV, scam calls

San Juan County Deputies responded to 193 calls from May 4-10, 2022 including: A Lopez Deputy responded to a downed telephone line covering the entrance to the tennis courts. The Deputy assisted in directing traffic as OPALCO cleared the line and saved the trapped tennis players. A San Juan deputy responded to a report of an order violation. The deputy located an illegally possessed short barreled rifle and entered it into evidence. A deputy spoke with a Lopez Island resident regarding an on-line scam. The reporting person stated she received an e-mail from someone, claiming to be from Pay-pal, who claimed she owed money. Fortunately, she was suspicious and no money was lost.
