Sheriff's Log San Juan Islands August 24-30, 2022: Cat apparently killed by loose dogs, scooter accident, vehicle prowl, hit&run in ferry lanes,

San Juan County Deputies responded to 198 calls from August 24-30, 2022 including: A deputy on San Juan Island was dispatched to a report of dogs chasing a cat. The dogs were located by the cat owner and turned over to the person who was care taking them. The cat was later found deceased. A report was filed. A San Juan deputy responded to a Hit and Run at the ferry terminal. A motorcycle driver lost control, collided with a parked vehicle, and left the area without exchanging information with the victim. The fleeing driver was located and identified. The case will be forwarded to the P.A.'s office for charging. An Orcas Island Deputy investigated the theft of a firearm from a residence. A report was authored, and the investigation is ongoing.
