San Juan County Deputies responded to 171 calls from October 11-17, 2023 including: An Orcas Island Deputy was called out from home after a dispute involving the violation of dog park rules became very heated. The Deputy contacted the involved parties and de-escalated the situation. A deputy on Orcas Island was dispatched to report of online extortion. Lopez Deputies and EMS responded when an individual accidentally locked themselves in a public restroom. An EMT dismantled the door, rescuing the trapped individual. A Deputy on San Juan Island received a report from WA State Ferries that they wanted someone trespassed from the Ferry. The Deputy contacted the citizen and informed them that they were trespassed. San Juan Deputies responded to a report of vandalism in progress. Upon arrival, a Friday Harbor resident was found smashing a 10 lb sledgehammer into a vehicle doing significant damage.
