San Juan Islands Sheriff's log November 1-7, 2023: Ferry worker bumped by car, crab pots near Orcas ferry terminal, car prowls in Friday Harbor
San Juan County Deputies responded to 147 calls from November 1-7, 2023 including: A Lopez Island Deputy responded when a vehicle on a ferry bumped into a ferry worker, ran over a cone, and sped onto Lopez Island. The matter is under investigation. Deputies responded to a report of crab pots that were interfering with the operations of WSF into the Orcas Island Ferry Terminal. A marine response was conducted and the commercial crab pots were removed. Two San Juan Island deputy was dispatched to a report of several males that appeared intoxicated, possible attempting to enter motor vehicles on First Street, next to the courthouse. They observed a male enter a red sedan parked near the Grange on First Street.

A deputy was parked outside of 49 Spruce Street. From the street I could hear loud amplified music, either from a television or sound machine. I could hear it intermittently for the 10 minutes that I was in the area. I could tell the noise was coming from the trailer on the east side of the property.
