Despite a rainy and blustery forecast, a record number of hearty individuals and families showed up to the 16th Annual Turkey Trot which began at the Friday Harbor Suites on Thanksgiving morning. The previous record turnout was 125. This year saw the event surge to a new record of 330.
“We were ready for over 200, but this year’s crowd overwhelmed us a bit” said Race Director Paul Hopkins. “Everyone seemed to be having a good time and going with the spirit of a Community event”, he added.
The event, through the generosity of its participants, donated 845 pounds of food and $1,000 to the Friday Harbor Food bank.
