September 21: Leave it to Beavers: The Science of Making a Wetland

San Juan Island Library is partnering with the San Juan Preservation Trust to bring you this program on beavers and the role they play in our local environment. 

Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Furbearer Biologist, Shawn Behling, will join us  in a discussion and presentation to deepen your understanding and appreciation for beavers in our local ecosystems.  We will discuss the benefits of beavers on the landscape, mitigation techniques for dealing with human-beaver conflicts, and what landowners can do when our coexistence plans fall short.

This event will be held at the Library on Thursday, September 21 at 7 PM.
