Avery Adams nominated for James Beard Foundation Award

The semi-finalists for the 2024 James Beard Awards includes Orcas Island Chef Avery Adams of Matia Kitchen. He was nominated for the Best Chef: Northwest and Pacific.

In a press release from the Orcas Island Chamber of Congress, Adams said, "I am beyond humbled and grateful for the recognition. It has truly been the strength, resourcefulness, compassion, and talent of our team that has made my job and the restaurant possible this year. It's truly their honor too. I am so appreciative for the love and support for Matia and my work."

Matia Kitchen, currently on winter break, is scheduled to reopen February 3. Online reservations open on the first of each month for the next month's bookings. Reservations are open now for February. 

Matia Kitchen will be open from 5 to 9 pm Thursdays thru Saturdays beginning February 3. The restaurant is located at 382 Prune Alley in Eastsound on Orcas Island.
