Dolores Elizabeth Hutchins went home to be with the Lord peacefully on February 24, 2020.
It is not important where her life began, what high school she attended, or education she had on her journey through this life on earth. She would say her life began when she met her beloved husband of 58 years, Jean Dee Hutchins, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and married him there in 1955.
The apple of Jean and Dee’s life, Pamela Dolores Hutchins, was born in New Orleans in 1956. The focus of her life became providing the best life possible for Pamela and teaching her all the skills necessary to navigate this unpredictable world, and to treat everyone with respect and God’s love.
Along the way she called home Port Aransas, Texas, Aransas Pass, Texas, Rockport, Texas, Seattle, Washington, and Federal Way, Washington. She and Jean moved to Friday Harbor on June 2, 2009. Dee’s nature everywhere she lived was making someone else’s day brighter with a gift, kind word, smile, or a hug. It was her deepest desire to share her faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ to everyone she met.
Dee only had one daughter which she loved fiercely, but she adopted in her heart many “bonus children” on her journey through life on this earth. She was most proud of being referred to as “Pam’s Mom”.
Dee is preceded in death by her husband, Jean Dee Hutchins in December of 2012. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Dolores Hutchins, of Friday Harbor, Washington.
