Art in many forms featured at San Juan Island Library

The arts are a significant part of the economy and culture of San Juan Island. And, with the recent grand opening of the San Juan Islands Museum of Art in the old EMS building, the community is inspired to look for expressions of creativity all around. Here at the Library, too!

4 more specialty license plates proposed

New legislation is proposed in the state Congress to add four more specialty license plates to the 23 available currently. Wrestling, state tree, workforce training and farmers and ranchers would be featured.

Friday Harbor boys crush Concrete, play La Conner in loser-out game Saturday

Friday Harbor crushed Concrete 70-28 in a Class 2B District 1 Basketball consolation semifinal Thursday, Feb. 19 at Sedro Woolley High School. The Wolverines advance to the consolation final versus La Conner at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21 at Sedro Woolley. The winner gains the district’s final berth to the Class 2B Regional Tournament. Auburn Adventist won the district’s top seed by blasting the Braves 52-37 in district championship game Thursday.
