* The Tigers opened last week with a 22-13 loss at Meridian.

* Granite Falls is 1A school and a member of the 5-team Emerald Sound League along with Cedar Park Christian, Kings, Sultan and South Whidbey.

* Last fall the Purple and Gold defeated the Tigers 27-6 on the local gridiron.

* A year ago GF was 0-4 in league play and 2-8 for the season.

* This will be the eighth meeting in 42 years (1981, ’89, 2004, ’05, ’19, ’21, ’22 and now)

* FH leads the series 4-3 and is 1-2 at GF

* Longest FH win streak – 3 (2004-19)

Did You Know

* One time many years ago Granite Falls was a fellow member in the Northwest B League. The league was initially formed for the 1957-58 school year with 10 schools – Coupeville, Darrington, Friday Harbor, Granite Falls, La Conner, Orcas Island, Skykomish, Sultan, Tahoma and Tolt. At that time the Wolverines participated in the league in two boys’ sports – basketball and track. Granite Falls was in the conference for 12 years through 1968-69.

* FH is 35-34 vs. 12 schools from Snohomish County

* With his sixth year as coach, Brock Hauck is third in years served. Ken Axelson was here 10 years and Richard Ledford 8.

Last week: The Wolverines defeated South Whidbey 35-20 for their first win over the 1A Falcons in seven games.
