Rock Solid wins state 2019 Prevention Award of Excellence - Youth Leadership Team

The San Juan Island Prevention Coalition's Youth Prevention Team Rock Solid - Carly Saxe, Luke Fincher, Ramona Flierl and Inga-Clarissa Harold -  was awarded top honor at this year’s Washington State Prevention Summit in Yakima. Every year since 2011, Rock Solid has returned from the summit and completed a meaningful prevention project in their community. This award recognized their efforts. Rock Solid shares the award with the community for their ongoing support and collaboration.

3 of 4 new PHD commissioners take seats this month

Four new commissioners have been elected to the San Juan County Hospital District No. 1 Board. Three - Kyle Loring, Everett Clary, and Trish Lehman will take office after the November 5 election is certified. Certification takes place November 25. The fourth newly elected commissioner, Gail Leschine-Seitz, will take her oath of office in January 2020.

WSF to host first ever virtual community meetings Dec. 7 and 10

SEATTLE – Washington State Ferries is hosting a round of community meetings through a new, online webinar in order to share the latest information and engage people in ferry-served communities from Tacoma to the San Juan Islands.

During two live online community meetings, WSF staff will give a brief presentation with updates about 2019 accomplishments and what is next for implementation of WSF’s Long Range Plan. Online participants will be able to ask questions and provide comments.
