Friday Harbor girls bounce Seattle Lutheran, advance in district tourney

Friday Harbor girls basketball team bounced Seattle Lutheran 33-13 Wednesday, Feb. 8 and advances in the 2017 Class 2B District 1/2 Tournament. The Wolverines (9-11) next play at La Conner (18-2) at 6:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2017.

Friday Harbor crushes Concrete, secures return trip to state tourney

Friday Harbor crushed Concrete 10-1 in the Class 2B District 1 Championship at Stanwood High School Friday, May 20, 2015. With the win the Wolverines secured a return trip to state tourney in Yakima May 27-28, 2016.

At least seven Friday Harbor athletes to compete in state track meet - SLIDESHOW ADDED

At least seven and possibly more Friday Harbor athletes will compete in the Class 2B Track and Field Championships in Cheney later this month. Senior Kyle Jangard (discus), senior Nick Armstrong (800-meter run), sophomore Jacob Kaden (3200), junior Sara Rist (javelin), sophomore Ciera Bailey (800) and freshman Natalie Meenan (400) won their events at the Class 2B District 1 Championships at Lummi High School Wednesday, May 11. The winner of District 1 events automatically qualify for the state meet.

Friday Harbor baseball guts out ‘most momentous comeback,’ finishes among elite eight at state

Friday Harbor's baseball squad finished its season among Class 2B's top eight teams Saturday, May 21 at Adna. The Wolverines (17-4) rallied for six runs in the seventh inning for a 6-4 victory over Tri-Cities Prep (18-5) in a state regional first-round game. Toutle Lake (20-5) stopped Friday Harbor's playoff run by topping the Wolverines 9-3 in the regional final.

The Wolverines started the season young and inexperienced but finished stronger than most anticipated.

Girls Tennis: Friday Harbor High School home match

A late-running ferry meant Sedro Woolley High School Girls Tennis team had only enough time for an eight-game pro set format match with Friday Harbor High Friday, May 1, 2015. The Cubs beat the Wolverines 3-2.  The Wolverines # 1 and #2 singles won their matches. Isabel Gabriel, filling in as Friday Harbor's #2 singles, fought back after dropping the first few games.
