Bellingham man wins $10K in fishing classic, Hodges of FH tied for 2nd


Jason King of Bellingham held onto his lead in the 2012 Annual Salmon Classic Invitational at Roche Harbor with a 16 lb 6 oz salmon caught on the first day of fishing and took home $10,000 cash. A tie for second with two 16.2 pound fish resulted Brian Dennis of Lake Tapps and David Hodges of Friday Harbor splitting $8,000 in cash.

Jennifer Payne of Friday Harbor took home $2000 for the mystery fish prize.

Debbie Sandwith of Roche Harbor said, 85 Boats, with 293 anglers, arrived on a blue-bird sunny Thursday for the 9th Annual Salmon Classic Invitational. Boats launched to a cannon start on both fishing days with amazing Northwest gorgeous sunrises and sunsets.
