Wolverines cut down Loggers in girls basketball

210-dsc_2518Friday Harbor girls basketball team sank 22 of 36 free throws en route to a 51-42 victory over Darrington Monday, Jan. 30. The Wolverines, 9-2 in Northwest 1A/2B League action, are in first place - a half-game up on La Conner and a game better than the Loggers. Friday Harbor travels to Cedar Park Christian Tuesday, Jan. 31, is at La Conner Friday, Feb. 3 and finishes conference play at home against Orcas Island Saturday, Feb. 4.

Liz Taylor led the Wolverines against the Loggers with 13. Friday Harbor's other scorers were: Mandy Turnbull 11, Tabatha Kean 10, Larissa Nash 9, Jean Melborne 6 and Emily Guard 2.
