After a couple of quiet seasons on the tennis courts, Friday Harbor High School fielded a determined boys tennis team this year thanks to a group of tenacious parents and a flexible athletics program. Ten boys turned out for the team, which got a late start but managed to extend their outdoor season thanks to a remarkably sunny October.
Friday Harbor’s bid for a Class 2B State Tournament berth fell two points shy Tuesday, Nov. 6 in a 7-6 mini-playoff loss to Concrete at La Conner. The Wolverine players, coaches and fans believed the team scored those crucial two points but to their shock an official ruled a two-conversion unsuccessful.

The Friday Harbor and Concrete football teams face off in a state-qualifying mini-playoff at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6 at La Conner High School. The winner of the two-quarter contest advances to the Class 2B State Tournament and will take on top-seeded Adna Nov. 9 or 10.
Friday Harbor trimmed Concordia Christian 3-2 in the 2018 Bi-District Girls Soccer Championship Saturday, November 3 at Interlake High School. The undefeated Wolverines (12-0-3) move on as the Bi-District's No. 1 seed to the 1B/2B State Tournament and will play Adna (17-1) at 4 p.m. November 10 at Anacortes High School.
