Friday Harbor’s opening-round contest in the Class 2B State Football Tournament at Lake Roosevelt High School at noon Saturday, Nov. 16 will be a battle of two dominating defenses: The Wolverines and the Raiders have both limited opponents to less than 10 points per game.

The 11th-seeded Wolverines won the Northwest 1B/2B League with a 4-0 record and were 9-1 overall. Their only defeat was a 7-3 loss to Class 1A South Whidbey. They scored 408 total points — 40.8 per game — while limiting opponents to 35 points — 3.5 points a game. They held six opponents scoreless.
Sixth-seeded Lake Roosevelt won the Central Washington 2B League with a 4-0 record and was 8-1 overall. Their only loss, a 21-18 defeat, was to fourth-seeded Chewelah. The Raiders scored 366 points for a 40.7 per game average. Their defense allowed a total 76 points this season, or 8.4 points a contest. They shut out two foes.
