Friday Harbor baseball wins 5-3

Friday Harbor High School baseball team beat Wahkiakum  5-3 in the first round of the state tourney. The other team had the bases loaded and scored one run in the final inning before the Wolverines pulled off the win at the state tourney game in Yelm. They will play Rainier next after a 45-minute break. Rainier beat Adna 8-7.

4 Friday Harbor, 2 Lopez Island and 1 Orcas Island golfers headed to state tourney

Four golfers on the Friday Harbor High School team have qualified for state along with two from Lopez Island High School and one from Orcas Island High School. The golfers played in the 2019 Bi-District Golf Championships played at Gallery Golf Course on May 16, 2019. The top 13 players from the state qualifying tournament are headed to state.

Seitz named Player of the Year, Wolverine and Viking softball coaches are Coaches of the Year

The Wolverines and Vikings did extremely well in the Northwest 2B All-League Softball Players All-League. Friday Harbor High School player Thea Sietz was named Player of the Year. Wolverine co-coach Kirk Holt and Viking co-coach Kevin White were named Coaches of the Year. And numerous players made the list for First Team, Second Team or Honorable Mention.


Wolverines and Vikings make baseball All Star Teams; Rich Warin is Coach of the Year

The Wolverine baseball player Marshall Clark was named one of the two MVPs for the 2019 NW 2B League Baseball All League Team. Friday Harbor High School coach Rich Warin was named Coach of the Year. The Wolverines have five players on the First Team and two on the Second Team. Orcas Vikings have one player on the First Team and two on the Second Team. 


Friday Harbor blanks Concrete for Bi-District title, earns trip to state

Friday Harbor blanked Concrete 10-0 in six innings Saturday, May 11 to win the 2019 Class 2B Bi-District Baseball Championship. The Wolverines (14-2) advance to the state tourney as the top seed from Districts 1 and 2. They are slated to next play at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 18 at Yelm High School against Wahkiakum (13-8), the No. 5 team from District 4.
