Four FH track members compete in tri-districts May 17 and 19

Four Wolverine track team athletes compete Thursday, May 17, and Saturday, May 19 at Kings High School at the Tri-District meet with the goal of advancing to the State track meet next week.

Friday Harbor High School freshman Willy Blackmon competes in three events and junior Aaron Prager in two. Lucas Jagel and , Alaina Scheffer each compete in one event.  More information on league website.


Meridian ends FH softball's season at tri-district

Meridian beat Friday Harbor High School softball team 13-7 Saturday afternoon (May 12, 2012) at the 2012 1A District Softball Tournament at Janicki Fields.

Lynden Christian won 14-8 over Friday Harbor in the first game putting the Wolverines into a loser out situation for their second game where they faced the winner of the Nooksack Valley/Meridian game.

Nooksack Valley took the championship with a 16-6 win over Lynden Christian.


Wolverines baseball team wraps up season at tri-districts

Friday Harbor High School baseball team beat Lynden Christian 8 - 3 to advance to the second round in the 2012 1A Tri-District Baseball Tournament Saturday, May 12 at Sehome High School and Joe Martin Field. Orting ended the Wolverines season by beating them 1-0.

Chimacum won the tournament with a 1-0 win over Charles Wright Academy. Meridian took third place with their 7-1 win over Cedar Park Christian.

Friday Harbor ends the season 7-1 in the conference and 14-7 overall.

SJI Field of Dreams fundraiser to finish community multi-use field

$1.6 million dollars of donated dollars have gone into the infrastructure for the San Juan Island Community Fields. Now it's time to raise the funds to get the park open and the first phase of the community sports fields finished - the multi-use athletic field. The goal is to have it open to the public by September 1, 2012.

The Fields of Dreams Fundraiser takes place from 4 p.m. to ...  April 21 at the San Juan County Fairgrounds. A BBQ dinner, beer garden, dancing and live music - the Good Husbands, Shotgun Messengers, Laura Lee Chorba, and the One More Time Band - will make this a fun-filled family oriented event.
