July 4 and 7: List of holiday celebrations on Orcas Island

Orcas Island community celebrates the Independence Day holiday throughout the week. Fireworks at Deer Harbor fill the sky on July 3. A fun run and a patriotic celebration in Eastsound on July 4 followed by music and fireworks at Waterfront Park. On July 7, the annual Community parade takes place in Eastsound along with the Orcas Island Historical Museum's celebration in the Village Green. Details posted below.


Deer Harbor Fireworks at the Marina. Show starts at approximately 10 pm.


Funhouse 5k run.

9 am start at Eastsound Village Green. The Funhouse on Orcas Island FunRacer 5K walk/run for all ages begins at 9 a.m. and a 1K for kids begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at the Village Green, on North Beach Road, in Eastsound. Register online.  Register as a team,  with friends or coworkers. The biggest team to register by the Sunday before the race will be recognized on the Funhouse Facebook page, along with the fastest average team from the race. Patriotic Celebration on the Village Green.

11 am start. Celebrate the 4th of July by singing Patriotic songs and hearing the stories of the wonders of Providence in our nation's history up to the present day beginning at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 4 on the Village Green in Eastsound on Orcas Island. Following the program at 11:00 am, local favorite musicians Almost Classical will be performing their fun mix of classical and pop tunes.

Community Band Concert

9:15 p.m. in Waterfront Park in Eastsound.

Eastsound Fireworks show.

 10 p.m. Waterfront Park in Eastsound. Music 9:15 pm/Fireworks 10 pm.


Pancake Breakfast

 from 7 to 11 am. at Orcas Island Fire Station on Lavender Lane in Eastsound  Adults $7/Children $5/Under 5 free

67th Annual Orcas Island History Museum Celebration 

10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Eastsound Village Green on Orcas Island.  Enjoy refreshments including pie booth,  beer garden and a hot dog stand with chips and beverages. Check out the Logging show. 

Community Parade in Eastsound.

12 noon on North Beach Rd. The theme for this year's parade on Orcas Island is "Retro Orcas". The parade at 12 noon on Saturday, July 7 in Eastsound will celebrate all those things you loved about Orcas Island in years gone by. This year's Grand Marshal is long-time islander Betty Hall. The fabulous Orcas Community Band will be entertaining before the parade.
