Learn how to create a hanging basket at 10 a.m. May 4, 2019 at the Mullis Center. The class is taught by Marguerite Bennett and sponsored by the San Juan Island Garden Club. Cost is $39.
Participants will be provided a hanging basket, growing medium, choice starter plants and, of course, plenty of free advice. New this year, try a veggie basket – suitable tomatoes, peas and colorful “greens” for fun edibles.
Bring your own gloves, tools, beverage and snack. Though a container and plants are provided you may choose to bring a favorite hanging container.
Together we will plant a beautiful basket perhaps for Mother’s Day, to display at the fair and definitely enjoy all summer long. Families with aspiring gardeners are encouraged to participate.
The first basket prepared by a youth (under age 16) is free of charge.
RSVP is appreciated.
