The San Juan Island Community Foundation is offering a matching fund opportunity during the San Juan County Fair August 14-17, 2019. The IOSA Board invites you to donate and help IOSA acquire and supply an “Oiled Wildlife Assistance Trailer.” Equipment used to help birds and animals during a spill in our county waters will be stored in the trailer.
For every dollar contributed towards the trailer during the four days of the fair, San Juan Island Community Foundation will contribute an additional 50 cents until the goal of $5,000 of community contributions is met. This means that IOSA could potentially have $2,500 in addition to the $5,000 community contribution.The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization, so your contribution will be tax deductible.
You can contribute in one of three ways:
- Bring a check to the Foundation’s booth at the Fair, made payable to “San Juan Island Community Foundation” with “IOSA, Oil Wildlife Assistance Trailer” on the memo line;
- Mail that check described above to the Foundation’s mailing address: San Juan Island Community Foundation, PO Box 1352, Friday Harbor, WA 98250;
- Use your credit or debit card on the phone by calling (360) 378-1001, or donate online by using the Foundation's website. Once online please click the “nonprofit” button and write “IOSA, Oiled Wildlife Assistance Trailer” in the comments section.
Your donations will go towards the trailer itself and important supplies for it such as nets, traps, safety equipment, clean-up materials, and deterrence supplies like decoys and noisemakers. IOSA offers a big thanks to the San Juan Island Community Foundation for their wonderful generosity, and to our IOSA members, donors, and advocates throughout San Juan County and beyond.
Check out IOSA training opportunities on the IOSA website. The next class is on August 24.
