* This is the final regularly scheduled home game.
* The 1A Borderites have won one game and lost five – lost to Renton (2A) 55-21 and Pe Ell/Willipa (2B) Valley 27-13 then topped Chelan (1A) 33-19 before losing to Granite Falls (1A) 27-6, Lynden Christian (1A) 41-0 and Nooksack Valley (1A) 52-22.
* Blaine, along with four other Whatcom County schools, are members of the Northwest Conference where BHS is 0-2 and in fifth place.
Wolverine – Borderite Stuff
* The series started in 1992 and after eight games is heavily slanted in Blaine’s favor, like they’ve won them all. Suffice it to say the average score is 30.5 to 9.8.
* This is the fourth time Blaine has visited the island, the last time was 13 years ago in 2012.
* Twice when the Wolverines were a 1A school they were members of the same league as Blaine.
The first time was the Whatcom County League from 1992 to ’96 and they played in each of those five seasons. From 2010 to ’13 FH was in the Northwest Conference and played BHS twice.
Odds and Ends
* Three times the Wolverines played the Blaine JV’s here on the island and the home team won them all, in 1974, ’79 and ’86.
* Gotta love home games. In the last 28 contests in FH the Wolverines are 22-6. On the other hand, in the last 29 games away from the friendly confines they are 9-20.
